how many ways can an atomic bomb kill you?

watched two documentaries about the bombings of japan (hiroshima and nagasaki) during the world war two. even though the event was several decades ago, i couldn't help feeling bad seeing the destruction and loss of lives.
so how many ways can an a-bomb kill you?
- anyone in the blast area or ground zero will be vaporized or carbonized
- supersonic shockwaves coming from ground zero will fling you off walls like you were nothing but paper doll, breaking your bones that take care of your internal organs
- radioactive gamma rays, that can pass through walls, will attack the cells of the human body
- people beyond the blast site will be skinned literally by the scorching heat and radioactive shockwaves
- buildings collapsing on you
- fire burning people trapped in the buildings
- shrapnel from glass, wood and concrete blasted by the shockwaves
- if you are unlucky enough to be alive after getting caught in the blast, you'd be very thirsty. drinking water will trigger a breakdown in your internal organs. but of course, you didn't know that. so you'd drink any kind of water you'd find. if you can't find one and if you're lucky enough, there will be rain and you'd be thankful enough to drink it. unfortunately, rain water from a nuclear bomb site is radioactive and therefore, poisonous
- stress
- mental breakdown
- loss of natural resources necessary for industrial competitiveness
so what's the relevance of such blog?
if there were an a-bomb dropped in your country or working residence and you were lucky enough to survive, would you still be in business? how important is your business or profession to your customer?
it's always good to build on dreams based from the present. but your business has to be able to take anything in the future. while running a business requires a strategic view of the future, it will also require a realistic day-to-day perspective on operations. will your business be able to handle an atomic bomb in the future?
is it an unrealistic question? then i think a more appropriate question would be: would you be able to go back to business if the whole competitive playing field was levelled down to the ground? if the market suffered a massive breakdown and underwent a grassroots revolution on the supply and demand chain, would your company still be needed? would the customers really go for you given the multitude of choices and other companies out there?
for those starting up, is your business or career really needed? can you get into a business that will be needed?
the future is unpredictable, but you can play the present smartly so that the risks in the future are limited. no risk, no gain? well, at some point, it's all part of the game. where to invest one's resources has never really been an easy question.
